mpMRI Prostate

Multiparametric MRI of the Prostate (mpMRI)

If your doctor finds that your PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) levels show changes, a multiparametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging (mpMRI) of the prostate is recommended for further diagnostics.

This diagnostic method offers several advantages:

  • The MRI allows for the early detection of tissue changes in the organ.
  • Our high-quality imaging enables precise differentiation between benign, malignant, or inflammatory changes (prostate carcinoma, benign prostatic hyperplasia BPH, prostatitis, prostate cysts, tumor infiltration into adjacent structures, recurrence after prostate carcinoma).
  • Biopsies are only necessary when absolutely required and can then be performed with the highest precision.
  • Patients gain quick certainty, have fast access to treatments, and therefore have better chances of recovery.

Professor Dr. med. Jürgen Mäurer is a specialist in detecting prostate changes and classifying them according to the PI-RADS method.
